Chennai Super Kings is one team that has not focussed much on the Tamil Nadu Premier League. This is despite TNPL being the local league of the state of the city in which the franchise is based. Nevertheless, CSK might have a few spots to full for the next campaign and they could hire a few performers from the league. 1) Gurusamy Ajitesh – 385 runs @ Strike Rate of 163
The youngster from Tamil Nadu has been in fine form in recent years. Many expected him to get a bid at IPL 2023 Auctions but that did not happen. However, going by his form in TNPL 2023, he is sure to get a gig in IPL next year. And CSK would benefit by having him.
While he can be an instant replacement option for Ambati Rayudu, considering he is also a wicket-keeper, Ajitesh can be signed by keeping in mind the future of MS Dhoni. Therefore, he is on this list.
2) M Siddharth – 11 wickets @ Economy of 5.6
M Siddharth is one of the top performers from TNPL 2023 whom CSK might target for next season. CSK has a solid spin attack and they can further strengthen it for the future.
Siddharth is someone who can operate at various stages of an innings. He knows the Chepauk surface very well and would be a great backup for Ravindra Jadeja in the spin department.
3) B Aparajith – 283 runs @ Strike Rate of 143
The former India U19 Player was once a part of CSK but never got a chance to play. Since then, he has not got an opportunity in IPL.
However, he is a versatile cricketer and is worth giving a chance to. While he can play in the top order, he would also be able to provide a few overs of off-spin. Having him in the team might help CSK work around based on Moeen Ali‘s form and fitness.
