In the latest development as per the reports in the Sports Tak, pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the Indian reserves for the T20 World Cup 2022. The pacer suffered an injury ahead of the ODI series against South Africa and was ruled out of the series with Washington Sundar coming as his replacement.
The reports claim that the pacer has failed to recover in time and will not be part of the standby player list that will travel to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022. Notably, he was also in contention to replace injured Jasprit Bumrah in the main squad but is now completely ruled out of the race.
In his place, Shardul Thakur has been added to the reserve list. The pacer recent was seen in the action during the ODI series against South Africa. He looked in decent touch with both bat and ball, chipping in at crucial stages for his side.
If the reports claiming Deepak Chahar being ruled out of the event turns out to be true, he will become the third Indian player to miss the tournament, joining the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja.
