We already know that all the IPL franchises have submitted their final retained player lists for the upcoming IPL 2023 season. After the retention lists went viral, it was seen that Faf du Plessis‘s side, Royal Challengers Bangalore, had one of the strongest core squads ahead of IPL 2023. Well, they had a good squad in IPL 2022 to begin with, and now they will only have to fine-tune that by replacing their worst-performing or non-performing assets with some good alternatives. With the plethora of talent that will be available in the IPL 2023 auction, it will probably not be a difficult job for the RCB management.
Let’s take a look at the Royal Challengers Bangalore retained players list: Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, Faf Du Plessis, Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dinesh Karthik, Josh Hazlewood, Shahbaz Ahmad, Anuj Rawat, Akash Deep, Mahipal Lomror, Finn Allen, Sherfane Rutherford, Jason Behrendorff, Suyash Prab
Mahipal Lomror is one of the players that have been retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Apparently, the team has high hopes for him. The former Rajasthan Royals player has had recent success with his domestic team (Rajasthan). RCB even posted a video of one of his performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Rajasthan side with the caption: “Come summer ‘23 and @mahipallomror36 will be serving these crispies”. Lomror is an all-rounder who is equally talented with the ball and the bat.
However, RCB fans also have high hopes for their star player and former captain Virat Kohli this season. Virat was one of the best performers in the T20 World Cup 2022, and his form is truly back. We thus predict that he is going to have a brilliant IPL season with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2023.
