Lucknow Super Giants defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 1 wicket and silenced the RCB supporters at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It was one heck of a spectacular run-fest in yesterday night’s encounter.
The game had plenty of drama and nail-biting moments in the climax. Just as when LSG required one run off the last ball, Harshal Patel tried his best to keep Avesh Khan silent.
Although he succeeded in doing it, given that Avesh Khan swung it and missed it, Dinesh Karthik who was keeping the wickets failed to respond in time as he was involved in a bit of a fumble.
As a result, he couldn’t throw the ball on time. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants have completed the run successfully and thus notched up a 1-wicket thriller win over RCB.
Gautam Gambhir silences RCB fans with a gesture
Soon after the game, Lucknow Super Giants’ mentor, Gautam Gambhir hogged the limelight for his ‘finger on lip’ gesture towards the Royal Challengers Bangalore supporters at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The pictures and the video clip of the same went viral on the internet. Lucknow Super Giants let their teamwork do the talking in the run-chase and ended up on the winning side.
The Lucknow-based franchise became the first team to secure three wins this season. Currently, they are on top of the IPL 2023 points table with 3 wins and a defeat with a Net Run Rate of +1.048.
Lucknow Super Giants opened their account with a win over Delhi Capitals in their first game as they won the game by 50 runs. They lost to CSK by 12 runs but went on to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets.
In the recently-concluded game against RCB, LSG won the game by 1 wicket in a thrilling encounter. Nicholas Pooran was named the Player of the Match for his heroics.
