Just before the Asia Cup 2022 tournament, the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was criticized for his inability to unlock his full potential in terms of anchoring the innings in international cricket.
The right-handed batsman didn’t score a century in international cricket for close to three years. However, he found a way to come out on top and rediscovered his lost mojo back in the Asia Cup 2022 tournament.
The star batter went on to finish the Asia Cup 2022 as the leading run-getter as he essayed 276 runs in five games where he chipped in with two half-centuries and a T20I century.
It was also Kohli’s maiden century in Twenty20 Internationals and he couldn’t be any happier after ending his international century drought. He carried his good form into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Virat Kohli discloses what helped him a lot in the last few months
The right-handed batter finished the showpiece event with 296 runs including four half-centuries as he ended the tournament as the leading run-getter. Kohli also ended his ODI century drought after 40 months by scoring his 44th ODI hundred against Bangladesh in the dead rubber in Chattogram very recently.
The former Indian skipper once again proved that he is worth his weight in gold by smashing his 45th ODI century in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. He scored 113 runs off 87 balls where he chipped in with 12 fours and a six.
Team India won the game by 67 runs and drew first blood in the three-match ODI series. Virat Kohli who scored an impressive century was named the man of the match.
After the game, he revealed what helped him a lot in the last few months at the post-match presentation. He echoed that if one feels desperation in life, then it is important to take two steps backwards rather than pushing oneself in the first place.

Love the way he's accepting everything and telling the people how he came back from it. It's takes courage to speak these things. And especially the thing he said with Jatin Sapru that he was kind of faking his intensity.
