Litton Das played one of the finest innings of his T20I career against India. The keeper batter give a real scare to the Indian Cricket Team and at one moment it seemed he would pull the chase and help Bangladesh defeat the opposition.
But a short break due to rain saw him lose momentum and was unfortunately run out, which tilted the game in India’s favour. Chasing the target of 184 runs, Das came out all guns blazing and smashed Indian bowlers all over the park. He scored a quick fifty in just 25 balls and put the opposition under real pressure.
Das played a strike rate of 222.22 and smashed 7 fours and 3 fours in his knock of 60 runs. His innings gave his side a fiery start and had he been there till the end, he would’ve won the game for his side as well.
Following the match, it is learned that Virat Kohli, who won the Player of the Match award in the game against Bangladesh, gifted his bat to Litton Das. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations chairman, Jalal Yunus, confirmed the same.
He said: “When we were sitting in the dining hall, Virat Kohli came and gifted a bat to Litton. According to me, it was a moment of inspiration for Litton.”
He also praised Linton Das for his innings against India and called him a class batter. He said: Litton is a class batter. We have seen him play classical shots. He is a brilliant player in Tests and ODIs. Recently, he has started playing well in T20Is as well,”
