The inaugural Men’s Hundred competition happened last year in England, with star players from across the planet participating in the tournament. There were many international stars who decided against playing because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but one of the players who participated in the tournament was Chris Cooke.

The Glamorgan player received a contract from Birmingham Phoenix ahead of the Men’s Hundred competition. He got to play only four matches for the team, where he scored 20 runs in three innings, and his highest score was 11. His strike rate was less than 100, while his average was in the single digits.

Because of his poor performance, the wicket-keeper batter was released by Birmingham Phoenix. However, looking at Chris Cooke’s latest Twitter activity, it seems like he did not have any communication with the franchise before learning about his release.

All eight teams participating in the Men’s Hundred 2022 competition announced their respective lists of retained and released players ahead of the second edition of the big event. Chris Cooke’s name was missing on the retained players list.
