Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are locking horns with each other in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League. The game is currently being held at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
These are the only two teams that are yet to open their account in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Delhi Capitals were the first team to lose three games in a row. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians lost the first two games.
Talking about the ongoing fixture, Mumbai Indians’ skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Delhi Capitals to bat first. The Delhi-based franchise were bowled out for 172 runs in 19.4 overs.
Axar Patel scores a quickfire fifty against Mumbai Indians
Delhi Capitals’ bowling all-rounder, Axar Patel played one heck of a knock against the five-time IPL champions. When the team required someone to deliver the goods, Axar Patel rose to the occasion and lifted the team’s morale.
He chipped in with a quickfire half-century against Mumbai Indians wherein he entertained the fans with sixes and fours. Axar Patel ended up scoring 54 off 25 balls with the help of 4 boundaries and 5 hits over the fence.
Apart from Axar Patel, skipper David Warner scored 51 off 47 balls including six fours. On the other hand, Jason Behrendorff and Piyush Chawla performed pretty well for Mumbai Indians.
Jason registered 3/23 in 3 overs whereas Chawla registered 3/22 in four overs. Mumbai Indians’ bowlers did pretty well to keep Delhi Capitals in check and Mumbai Indians will have to be at their impressive best to ace the run chase.
