“Axar Patel Has Not Been Able To Bowl Economically”- Wasim Jaffer Wants India To Pick Ravi Bishnoi In The Playing XI

Former Indian cricket team opener Wasim Jaffer has opined that the Men in Blue should drop Axar Patel from the playing XI for the upcoming T20I match against the South African cricket team in Vizag. The third T20I of the series will take place tomorrow evening, where the Proteas will be keen to gain an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the five-match series.

Not many fans expected the South African cricket team to perform so well as they have in the first two matches of the away series against the Indian cricket team. They pulled off their highest successful run-chase in Delhi and followed it up with a splendid comeback from 29/3 to chase a 149-run target and win the match.

Speaking on ESPNCricinfo, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer suggested that the Indian cricket team should make a change to their playing XI. He wants to see Ravi Bishnoi bowling in tandem with IPL 2022 Purple Cap winner Yuzvendra Chahal for the Men in Blue. Here’s what he said:

“Yuzvendra Chahal, how well he bowled in the IPL, won the purple cap too – we haven’t seen that form in these two matches. The spinners’ role in T20 cricket is very important. Axar Patel hasn’t been able to bowl economically and is being attacked so I’ll personally want them to try Ravi Bishnoi because a leg-spinner will give you better options.”

Axar Patel bowled only 1 over in the last match against the South African cricket team

Captain Rishabh Pant has received criticism for not using his bowlers to perfection. In the first T20I, he did not use Yuzvendra Chahal well, while in the second game, he gave only one over to Axar Patel.

Fans should note that Patel went for 40 runs off four overs in the opening game of the series, while in the second match, he conceded 19 runs off the only over that he bowled.
