3 players whom LSG might mostly use as ‘Impact Substitution’

Lucknow Super Giants had a decent start to IPL. They reached the playoffs and left an impression. The management has actually worked on the weaknesses and the team now looks stronger. The ‘Impact Player’ rule will also help the franchise to bring out its tactics on the field. On that note, here, we take a look at three players whom LSG might mostly use as ‘Impact Substitution’.

1) Ayush Badoni

Although he started well, Ayush Badoni failed to set the ball rolling in the latter stages of IPL 2022. However, it was his first season and he would come out better in the upcoming campaign.

Though he can offer some bowling value, LSG would be most interested in his batting abilities. He is probably the only domestic batter along with Manan Vohra who will be trusted only with the bat. Therefore, Ayush Badoni can be one of the Impact Players for LSG.

2) Mohsin Khan

Mohsin Khan is one of the players whom LSG might mostly use as ‘Impact Substitution’. The left-arm pacer is returning from injury and it needs to be seen how he would perform in IPL 2023.

Although he is good with the variations in the death overs, LSG might invest in Avesh Khan and Mark Wood for this purpose. Hence, there is an opportunity to exploit Mohsin’s new-ball ability and then take him off for another player.

3) Krishnappa Gowtham

Krishnappa Gowtham is a player who can be a decent option for LSG in this regard. While his primary skill is off-spin bowling, on his day, the Karnataka all-rounder could also strike a few big blows.

He could be used in situations in which LSG lose early wickets or if there are too many left-handers in the opposition. Gowtham could be a tactical inclusion in this scenario. Therefore, he is also a part of this list.
