Team India might have surrendered at the hands of the Bangladesh cricket team in the second ODI in Dhaka but skipper Rohit Sharma displayed a great deal of strength, bravery and fortitude in the run-chase.

He walked out to bat at No.9 despite the dislocated thumb and then switched gears when it mattered the most for India. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get support from the tail-enders.

However, Rohit Sharma gave it all by smacking three fours and five sixes and went on to score a scintillating half-century off just 27 balls. Despite his best efforts, India lost the game in the end.

Bangladesh’s premier paceman Mustafizur Rahman kept Mohammed Siraj silent in the 48th over. Siraj was looking to rotate the strike back to the skipper but it was to no avail as he wasted all six balls.

It is surely one of the best knocks in Rohit Sharma’s career and it is a knock for the ages for sure. Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the third and final ODI against Bangladesh which is scheduled to be held on December 10, Saturday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

As per the reports, Rohit Sharma is unlikely to feature in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. According to news agency PTI, Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran is likely to be called up as the cover-up for the injured Rohit Sharma in Tests.
