2 changes India might make for the next Asia Cup 2023 match against Nepal

The India vs Pakistan game ended without a result on Saturday. However, going by the batting performances, India might have to think harder for the next games. While major changes are not expected, considering the opposition is Nepal on Monday, the management could try to rotate a few players. On that note, here, we take a look at two possible changes India might make for the next Asia Cup 2023 match against Nepal.

1) Mohammed Shami for Shardul Thakur

It was a major surprise to not see Shami‘s name in the playing XI against Pakistan. However, India wants batting depth and Shardul getting a go was not very surprising. That said, despite India wanting Shardul to deliver with the bat, he failed to do the job.

Now, the focus of the management might be to improve the bowling attack and also increase the batting skills of the long tail. This appears to be the best feasible solution for Rahul Dravid and co. Therefore, Shami might come into the playing XI on Monday.

2) Prasidh Krishna for Jasprit Bumrah

Prasidh Krishna for Jasprit Bumrah is one of the possible changes India might make for the next Asia Cup 2023 match against Nepal. Bumrah has recently returned from injury. Yes, he did not bowl against Pakistan but when there is an opportunity to rest him, it is best if the management does it.

Bumrah might need some rhythm before the World Cup. However, there are still quite a few games to go before that. Hence, it would be better to use Bumrah for the crucial fixtures. In this regard, Prasidh Krishna might be a possible option for the Indian Team. He looks to be the backup of Bumrah and it is wise that he is also well prepared in case there is some requirement in the next few weeks.
