Rajasthan Royals have been one of the powerful teams in the Indian Premier League since the last edition. They made it all the way to the finals of the fifteenth edition of the IPL.
However, they surrendered at the hands of Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 final. The IPL 2022 runners-up continued their good form from where they left off in the ongoing edition of the IPL.
The inaugural IPL champions have the required tools and ingredients to gun for the title. They do have the players with all their bases covered but they lacked in some areas where they should have done better.
Batting has never been a major concern for them as they have powerful batters in their line-up to score runs when it mattered the most. Despite the fact that they do have a top-class bowling unit, the bowlers need to address some issues who have been leaking runs unnecessarily.
1 Bold decision that RR should take in the next game against KKR
Rajasthan Royals are currently fourth on the points table with five wins and six defeats. Although they started this season well by piling up more wins, they started losing some momentum in the last few games.
From here on, it is a must win game for them and for other teams as well. During the recent game against SRH, Sandeep Sharma made the headlines for a costly error as he overstepped in the last ball.
It turned out to be the deciding factor of the game. Abdul Samad went on to hammer a six off the last ball when SRH required a four off the last ball. Sandeep Sharma must be feeling absolutely gutted with himself as he thought he defended the target in the last over but his costly mistake put him on the back foot.
In the next game against KKR, the RR team management must bring in the experienced Jason Holder in place of Sandeep Sharma. Jason Holder missed the previous game against SRH. He must have surely sorted out his woes and picked up lessons as well. He should be starting against KKR ahead of Sandeep Sharma.
