Yuvraj Singh, a former all-rounder for India, has a funny perspective on the recent spat between Gautam Gambhir, coach of the Lucknow Super Giants, and Virat Kohli, former captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Singh has mostly sought to make peace between the two, although in an unexpected fashion, 72 hours after the occurrence prompted stormy responses across social media platforms.

The 41-year-old thinks that Gambhir and Kohli, two prominent figures in Indian cricket, might benefit from working together on a commercial sponsorship. This trio has played together in 33 one-day internationals and 10 Twenty20 internationals for India.

Yuvraj Singh wants Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli to be brand ambassadors of Sprite’s ThandRakh campaign

Singh thinks that Coca-Cola subsidiary Sprite, a soft drink with lemon and lime flavours, should sign both Gambhir and Kohli. The southpaw went even further, saying that they would be perfect candidates for the ‘Thand Rakh’ (stay calm) campaign.

Yuvraj tweeted: “I think #Sprite should sign #Gauti and #Cheeku for their campaign #ThandRakh  what say guys?  @GautamGambhir @imVkohli @Sprite.”

Gauti and Cheeku are shorthand for Gambhir and Kohli, respectively, in case you didn’t know. Coca-Cola India introduced the ‘Thand Rakh’ marketing campaign last year, just before the start of summer.

Earlier this week, two cricketers from Delhi completed a 10-year challenge at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, and while it’s unlikely that either of them intended to start a fight, the combination of two highly emotional people is certainly a potent one.

This loud disagreement between two cricketers who wear their emotions on their sleeves occurred for the first time in 2013. Regardless of who said or did what, both are expected to act far better in public given their distinct professional trajectories.
