Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently locking horns with Lucknow Super Giants in the 42nd game of the ongoing edition of the IPL. The game is being held at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Currently, Royal Challengers Bangalore are sixth on the IPL 2023 points table. Faf du Plessis and Co have won four games and lost four games so far this season. They have collected eight points so far.

On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants are second on the table. They have played eight games so far wherein they have won five games and lost three games. LSG have collected 10 points and a win against RCB will take them to the top of the IPL 2023 points table.

RCB registered their lowest Powerplay score in IPL 2023

Talking about the ongoing game, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis who opened the innings for RCB found it hard to go about their business on a tough batting wicket.

However, both the right-handed batters assessed the conditions pretty well and then slowly ticked the flow of runs. In the first six overs, they could accumulate 42 runs, which is the lowest-ever powerplay score for them in the ongoing edition of the IPL.

The duo added a 62-run opening partnership before Ravi Bishnoi got rid of the former RCB captain Virat Kohli for 31 runs. Kohli smashed as many as three fours to his name.
