Delhi Capitals have been going through a tough patch in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. David Warner who has been appointed the DC captain in Rishabh Pant’s absence in the tournament failed to live up to his reputation as a captain.
Although he has been scoring runs for the team, he came under fire for his strike rate and slow batting approach. The fans haven’t witnessed the aggressive side of David Warner yet this season.
Delhi Capitals are the only team that are yet to win even a single game this season. Having played five games so far, they have lost all five games in a disappointing manner.
Delhi Capitals will have to sort out their woes before it’s too late else they might pay the price. In the last season, they narrowly missed out on making it to the playoffs by finishing fifth on the table. Talking about their performance this season, they are at the bottom of the points table with an NRR of -1.488.
Thieves steal Delhi Capitals players’ cricket kits
Meanwhile, if reports doing the rounds are to be believed, thieves steal Delhi Capitals players’ cricket kits. As per the reports, as many as sixteen bats, along with pads, shoes, thigh pads, and gloves were missing.
As per The Indian Express, out of all the types of equipment that were stolen, three bats belonged to Delhi Capitals’ captain David Warner. On the other hand, two bats belonged to all-rounder Mitchell Marsh whereas three bats belonged to the wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt.
On the contrary, five bats belonged to youngster Yash Dhull. Apart from that, other equipment including shoes, gloves and other things were also stolen. For the record, each bat of overseas players is estimated at lakh rupees.
“All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on,” a source in Delhi Capitals confirmed.
