Popular Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle recently shared his predictions about who could be the 20 players in the shortlisted BCCI plan for the 2023 World Cup. The mega event will take place in 10 months, and the board has started its preparations for the same with a meeting that took place earlier today.

The BCCI has reportedly finalized a list of 20 players who will play in the upcoming ODI series of the Indian cricket team. From those 20 players, 15 will make it to the final squad. The list has not been publicly revealed, but Harsha Bhogle predicted who could be the probable names.

Taking to Twitter soon after reports claimed that the BCCI has prepared a list, Harsha listed down the names and wrote:

“I would imagine this is the core that selectors & team management would work with: Rohit,Rahul,Gill, Virat, Shreyas,Ishan,Rishabh,Sky, Samson,Pandya, Axar,Jadeja, Washington, Kuldeep, Chahal, Bumrah, Shami, Arshdeep, Prasidh, Siraj, Shardul. This is 21. My next 2: Patidar & Umran.”

Harsha Bhogle does not think that Shikhar Dhawan is in BCCI’s plans for 2023 World Cup

The list featured a majority of the top names of Indian cricket. However, one major name missing from that list was former Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan. The left-handed batter was the skipper of the Indian ODI team in multiple series last year, but he is not a part of the 23-man list prepared by Harsha.

The commentator still feels KL Rahul will be in the mix despite his inconsistent performances across all formats of the game. Even Sanju Samson, who was not a part of the ODI squad selected for the Sri Lanka series, has made it to Harsha’s list.

Umran Malik, who is India’s quickest bowler right now, failed to make it to Harsha’s primary list, but the commentator named two additional players and the two names were uncapped star Rajat Patidar and express pacer Malik.
