Team India has been off to a horrible start against Bangladesh in the first match of their ongoing 3-match test series that is currently going on at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Bangladesh. The hosts chose to field after winning the toss and they have been pretty successful in the endeavor to restrict the Indian batters.

Captain Rohit Sharma once again failed to score big runs once again as he got dismissed on 27 runs. His partner Shikhar Dhawan, who got his first chance in the Indian side after many days, failed to impress too. He scored 7 runs off 17 deliveries before being dismissed by Mehidy Hassan. Virat Kohli, who is in a terrific form lately, departed early too. Shakib Al Hasan picked his big wicket and he had to return after scoring 9 off 15.

All eyes were then on KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. They were the only proper batters who could take reign of the innings from here. Fans were particularly very hopeful of a good performance from Shreyas Iyer as the middle-order batsman plays beautifully on Asian pitches. However, he too departed after scoring only 24 runs and Team India now needed to worry about their innings.

Currently, KL Rahul and Washington Sundar are holding the innings together for India. KL Rahul will have a lot to prove in this match. He is being criticized a lot for his poor form lately. He failed to impress in the last few ICC tournaments and is inches away from being nicked from the playing XI of team India. He, therefore, needs to prove himself in this match itself lest the selectors go with some other batsman.

India have scored 122/4 in 27 overs so far in this match and they are in a very dangerous state. It is doubtful whether they will even score 200 runs in total and if it so happens, Bangladesh will get a strong footing.
