“They couldn’t defend 48 runs in 3 overs against India,” Indian fans remind Pakistan fan of India Vs Pakistan T20 World Cup game as he claims India doesn’t even have 1% of Pakistan’s bowling talent

Pakistan had lost their first game in T20 World Cup 2022 against India by 4 wickets

After the kind of performance Pakistan put on in the final of T20 World Cup 2022 yesterday, their bowling attack is receiving a lot of accolades, particularly from their own set of fans as Pakistan made it difficult for England to chase down 137 at MCG.

Even though Pakistan lost the final match, the Pakistan fans are happy about the fact that Pakistan fought and didn’t lose the game by 10 wickets, the margin by which India had lost in the semi-final. But, the surface that was in play in the semi-final match at Adelaide Oval was vastly different from the surface that was in play at MCG.

There wasn’t any help in the surface for the fast bowlers as such in Adelaide, but at MCG, the ball was seaming around for the whole game and there was steep bounce on offer as well.

One Pakistan fan tweeted after the final match that India doesn’t have even 1% of the bowling talent that Pakistan has and if India were playing England in the T20 World Cup final and England were chasing 137, the game would have been over in 10 overs.

To that, an Indian fan reminded me that the Pakistan bowlers actually had to defend 48 runs in 3 overs in their first match against India at the same MCG pitch, where the final was played, and they were not able to do that.

MCG pitch was one of the most difficult pitches in the T20 World Cup 2022

The pitch at the MCG during the India Vs Pakistan game was very tricky as well, but Virat Kohli played an unforgettable knock for India and chased that near-impossible equation down in the last three overs of the game, with Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi bowling two of those overs.
