It is time for the final day of the Super 12 stage of the 2022 T20 World Cup. The last day will see two teams seal the spot for the semis of the competition. It will be the last day of the Super 12 stage and yet, no one from Group 2 has qualified for the semi-finals. This edition of the tournament has been exceptional because some of the weaker teams on paper have managed to beat the established cricketing nations. Rain, although not desirable, did change the dynamics of the competition and made it more interesting. It will now boil down to the last game for the teams to hold their nerves and win the chance to reach the semis.
Pakistan will need to defeat Bangladesh to have a chance of reaching the next stage. They would need a victory by either the Netherlands or Zimbabwe, too, so that they can progress. It looks difficult for them at the moment. For India and South Africa, though, the equation is simple. They need to win their last game to make an entry into the semis. Considering they will play against the lesser established cricket nations, they will be backed to win the match.
Pakistan fans will be busy on Sunday
Babar Azam and his team will rely a lot upon other teams on Sunday. Firstly, they will have to win against Bangladesh, which in itself, is a tough task. Next up, they will expect either of the Dutch or Zimbabwe to win their remaining encounter. This one is unlikely because India and South Africa are strong opponents and will be the likely winners.
