Mumbai Indians have not qualified for the playoffs in the last two seasons. For the five-time champions, this is not the desired performance. In the upcoming season, the team will want to do well. They also have a new coach, Mark Boucher, for the upcoming campaign. The team has a solid core of youngsters but will target to re-invest in other areas of the squad. To free up funds and slots, they will have to release some players. As per reports, this list has to be submitted before November 15th. 1) Tymal Mills

Tymal Mills was picked for a good price by Mumbai at IPL 2022 Auctions. He was expected to be a complementary pairing for Jasprit Bumrah. However, the Englishman could not do well and later, due to an injury, he had to be ruled out of the competition. Tristan Stubbs was brought in as the replacement. With the South African doing well, Mills might have to be released.
The availability of Jofra Archer is still a suspense. If the English pacer is not available, MI will be forced to look out for another quick in the market. They will look for someone who can also provide some insurance with the bat. Sam Curran is an option that will be available. However, Daniel Sams falls in the same profile. Therefore, Mumbai Indians could also consider releasing the Australian all-rounder.
2) Kieron Pollard
Kieron Pollard is one of the players Mumbai Indians might release before the IPL 2023 Auctions. The West Indian all-rounder did not enjoy a great outing in IPL 2022. Considering Mumbai Indians’ change of management, it would not be a surprise if they straightaway trigger a transition too.
MI has a load of options to replace Pollard. While Tim David and Tristan Stubbs are already available on the roster, the team can also target Ben Stokes if available. It is important for MI to find a good finisher because that was one department they struggled with last year.
3) Fabian Allen
Fabian Allen did not get a lot of chances in IPL 2022. In the limited opportunities he got, the West Indian was not impressive. Moreover, Allen’s performance has dropped in other leagues and also for West Indies. Therefore, we can expect Mumbai Indians to release the all-rounder.
In R Sanjay Yadav, MI already has a ready replacement. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder was in terrific form in the recent Tamil Nadu Premier League. Although he did not get a chance in IPL 2022, the franchise will surely check his skills in the forthcoming campaign. With the release of Allen, Mumbai Indians can also target someone like Shakib Al Hasan or Ashton Agar
4) Anmolpreet Singh
Anmolpreet Singh is also one of the players Mumbai Indians might release before the IPL 2023 Auctions. In Suryakumar Yadav‘s absence, the Punjab cricketer got a few games. However, he was not able to leave an impression. Anmolpreet has actually been for a while with MI and is yet to find his groove. Therefore, the franchise could release him.
There is a new crop of young batters who have emerged. Known for their scouting skills, Mumbai Indians could already have a few names on the target list. Some of the options include G Ajitesh and Rohan Kunnummal.
