During the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League, Tripathi played for the SunRisers Hyderabad and was quite impressive. The right-handed batsman, who represents Maharashtra in the Indian domestic circuit, finished the competition with 413 runs, an amazing average of 37.50 runs per game, and a strike rate of 158.23.

Tripathi was not selected for the five-match Twenty20 International series that was being played at home, even though he had a strong performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Nevertheless, the Ranchi native, who is 31 years old and deserving of his first national team call-up, was allowed to play in the two-game series against the Irish squad.

It is well knowledge that Rahul Tripathi can get off to a fast start and that he performed admirably for the Orange Army when batting at number three in the order.
