Virat Kohli is one of the best batters of all time. However, like every other champion player, the Indian cricket team star is going through a rough phase in his career at the moment. He could not score a hundred in 2020 and 2021, and Kohli’s century drought has continued in 2022 as well.
Earlier today, the Royal Challengers Bangalore star came out to bat at number three against the Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. LSG won the toss and elected to field first. Dushmantha Chameera got off to a great start as he removed Anuj Rawat on the fifth ball.
Chameera then dismissed Virat Kohli for a golden duck, thereby extending the wait of fans to see the end of Kohli’s century drought. Kohli handed a catch to Deepak Hooda off the first ball that he faced.
Soon after his dismissal, a popular statistician noted that it was the 100th consecutive match where Kohli has finished without a century. He considered Tests, ODIs, T20Is and IPL matches for his calculation.
“Virat Kohli has now gone 100 matches across all formats without a century – 17 Tests, 21 ODIs, 25 T20Is and 37 IPL games,” he wrote.

Virat Kohli’s century drought will likely end soon
All cricket fans want to see another century from the bat of Kohli soon. It has been more than two years since the world saw him celebrate a century. While he has done well, he is yet to register a big score. Speaking with the commentators mid-innings during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, RCB coach Sanjay Bangar said:
“Virat’s scored consistently over a number of years – at the moment he’s going through a low patch as you may say. I would look at it this way – if he hasn’t got a big score for about 7 innings, it’s just around the corner.”
