eIndian T20I cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is 54 runs away from a major milestone in his overall T20 career. If the Hitman scores 54 runs for the Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2022 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he will join Royal Challengers Bangalore batter, Virat Kohli, in an elite club of Indian batters with 10,000 T20 runs.
Kohli is currently the highest run-getter among all Indians to have played in the shortest format of the game. The Royal Challengers Bangalore star has aggregated 10,326 runs in 311 T20 innings at an average of 41.13. He has recorded five hundreds and 76 fifties in T20 cricket.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is right behind Virat Kohli, having scored 9,946 runs in 359 T20 innings at a strike rate of 133.77. Sharma has smashed six centuries and 69 half-centuries in his T20 career.
Currently, the Mumbai Indians are placed at the bottom of the table along with defending champions CSK after their defeat against Rajasthan Royals.
We are here to correct our wrongs what happened in the last game: Rohit Sharma
Speaking with Murali Kartik at the toss of the match between the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals, Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying as follows:
“We are here to correct our wrongs what happened in the last game. Every game gives us an opportunity to do that. We are a young team, learning every game is something we are looking forward to every time. We are playing the same squad.”
Fans expected Suryakumar Yadav to be available for this match. However, the right-handed batter is not a part of the playing XI. It seems the Mumbai Indians team management does not want to risk him considering that there are many more matches left in the tournament.
