KKR have no choice but to release Venkatesh Iyer. They could target to get him back, as well. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which might target Venkatesh Iyer if KKR releases him.
1) Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals might just need one more senior Indian batter. Considering his IPL experience, Venky could be a fine option for DC. Also, the pitch at Delhi might suit his strengths. It is just that DC needs to give him a stable role to him.
2) Royal Challengers Bengaluru might target Venkatesh Iyer if KKR releases him
RCB went hard for Iyer but pulled out at the end. Nevertheless, the franchise could target him again. They could pit him against DDP for the No.3 role. Of course, Devdutt did well in IPL 2025, and he would be given preference for this slot.
3) Chennai Super Kings
It is likely that Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre will open the batting for CSK. Venkatesh Iyer would be a better option than Urvil Patel at No.3. If the price is decent, CSK could go for Iyer. He is a fine cricketer and in the CSK environment, he could become better.
