Dale Steyn has announced that he will not return to Sunrisers Hyderabad as the bowling coach for IPL 2025. The same happened last year, as well. However, Steyn did not specify if he will be opting to work for a different team in the next campaign. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which must target Dale Steyn as the bowling coach for IPL 2025.
1) Chennai Super Kings
There is a genuine vacancy at CSK. Dwayne Bravo has left the franchise to join KKR as a Mentor. CSK will need to fill the role in the coming weeks.
CSK is a big franchise and they have Matheesha Pathirana, who is one of the best T20 bowlers right now. Steyn could be tempted by this opportunity if CSK come his way. Hence, the five-time champions are on this list.
2) Royal Challengers Bengaluru
RCB is one of the teams which must target Dale Steyn as the bowling coach for IPL 2025. Adam Griffith has been at RCB for a while now but the bowling group has not developed much. Yes, he has been good in patches but the consistency is missing.
Now that a new era is starting, it could be a good idea to invest on a new bowling coach. Steyn has been at RCB before twice as a player. He enjoys a great relationship with Virat Kohli, as well. He will help the young bowlers and hence, RCB can pick him.
3) Delhi Capitals
It is not sure if James Hopes will continue at DC, especially after Ricky Ponting has left. Hence, there could be an opening at DC.
For a while, the DC bowling attack has been average. They need to construct a good attack and work on it. It is said that Munaf Patel is in the running to fill this role. However, someone like Dale Steyn, who has better coaching experience, can be a better fit.
