Usually, a cricketer tends to change his domestic side if he is not getting sufficient chances in his current state. However, if a player has represented India recently, it surely means he would be in a good situation. That said, a few Indian-capped players have switched sides for this season. In fact, two of them even won the Asian Games for India recently. On that note, here, we take a look at two Asian Games 2023 Indian gold medalists who have changed states for this domestic season.
1) Ravi Bishnoi – Rajasthan to Gujarat
Ravi Bishnoi is one of the first names to obtain the NOC to make the move ahead of this season. At Rajasthan, he was not getting sufficient opportunities due to the presence of Rahul Chahar. It was a logical move and he will now represent Gujarat.
For Gujarat, it is a good plan to prepare for the future. Piyush Chawla has led the spin attack for a while and now, they can have Ravi Bishnoi learn under him. Of course, Ravi will have India duties in the next months but when available, he would be a strong candidate to have on the side.
2) Rahul Tripathi – Maharashtra to Goa
Rahul Tripathi is one of the Asian Games 2023 Indian gold medalists who has changed states for this domestic season. It was a shocking move to see Rahul make the move to Goa ahead of this campaign. He has played for India recently and this move might even affect his India chances because Goa is not an established side.
Rahul would be desperate to do well for Goa in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. A good show will ensure SRH will retain him and at the same time, he could get a chance to represent India in the T20 tournaments that will take place after the 2023 ODI World Cup.
