Only seven overseas players have been retained across all eight franchises combined for the Men’s Hundred. In this article, we take a look at the seven overseas players retained for the Men’s Hundred 2022.

1) Glenn Maxwell (London Spirit)

Glenn Maxwell is one of the overseas players retained for the Men’s Hundred 2022. The Australian all-rounder is a marquee cricketer across all the T20 leagues. Hence, in this format, as well, Maxi has been given preference. He will link up with the likes of Eoin Morgan and Mark Wood for the upcoming campaign.

2) Faf du Plessis (Northern Superchargers)

Northern Superchargers needed experience in the batting line-up along with Ben Stokes. Hence, they have retained Faf, who will not have any international commitments. The franchise has a good bowling core of Adil Rashid and David Willey also retained.

3) Marchant de Lange (Trent Rockets)

Marchant de Lange is also one of the overseas players retained for the Men’s Hundred 2022. The South African pacer was the second-best bowler in the previous season. He took 12 wickets in seven games at an economy of 7.91.

4) Adam Milne (Birmingham Phoenix)

Adam Milne was in brilliant form in the inaugural edition of the Hundred. He was the best bowler of the tournament in 2021. He took 12 wickets in nine games at a brilliant economy of 5.73. Hence, the Kiwi will play for the franchise again.

5) Marcus Stoinis (Southern Brave)

The winners of the first season Southern Brave have decided to retain the core of their squad. Hence, they have kept hold of Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. The player will add terrific balance to the squad.

Tim David, who has been smashing it across the globe, will represent Southern Brave again. He is an improved cricketer now and will add value to the playing XI with his versatile skills.
