SRH reached the finals in IPL 2024. The squad composition, more or less, remains the same. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three weaknesses in the SRH squad for IPL 2025.
1) Lack of defensive bowling options
On their bad days, Mohammed Shami, Pat Cummins, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat and Rahul Chahar could all leak plenty of runs. This is a big problem for the side, especially on the flat tracks in Hyderabad.
In the last edition, they had the likes of T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who offered some control. Now, the pressure will be immense on the likes of Pat Cummins.
2) No slot-wise batters in the SRH squad for IPL 202
No role-wise batters in the team is one of the weaknesses in the SRH squad for IPL 2025. It will be interesting to see the batting order of SRH.
Ishan Kishan might not open the batting while Abhinav Manohar may not get a slot at No.4 or No.5. Nitish Reddy’s career is too short to decide on a batting slot now. The team could take a few games to have a settled batting line-up.
3) Less foreign batting options
Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen are the two main foreign batting options in the side. Kamindu Mendis is the third one.
Kamindu has not played in the IPL before. He is anyways not an established T20 batter. Therefore, if there is any injury issue, the squad will struggle big-time.
