Mitchell Starc has not been retained by KKR. KKR also does not have an RTM Card. Hence, if Starc is available in the auctions, he could be a target for any team. 1) Mumbai Indians
For long, Mumbai Indians has wanted a foreign superstar pacer as Jasprit Bumrah’s partner. However, the arrangement with Jofra Archer never worked due to the injury issues of both the players. Now, the franchise can achieve it with Mitchell Starc.
MI has always done well when the overseas left-arm pacer has delivered for them with the new ball. Trent Boult is a solid example. Starc would be a proper choice to come in as the foreign pacer. Hence, the five-time champions will target the Aussie.
2) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals is one of the teams which could target Mitchell Starc in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. It will be interesting to see if RR goes back to Trent Boult as the new-ball bowler. If Starc is available, he will be a definite upgrade over Boult.
RR could want Starc especially because of his hit-the-deck ability. This way, he can be used in the middle overs, something that cannot be done frequently with Boult.
3) Punjab Kings
With Ricky Ponting at the helm, you could have a lot of players from Australia get into the PBKS squad. The team anyway needs a leader in the pace attack. Hence, they could target Starc.
Both Arshdeep and Starc with the new ball will be a big win for PBKS. It is a combination that could deliver wickets consistently in the powerplay. Hence, PBKS might be desperate to get this duo (Arshdeep using the RTM Card).
