The jersey plays an important role in establishing the identity of the franchise. It may not always give an indication of the philosophy of the franchise but for the fans and the neutral views, one of the first things that come to mind when hear the name of the franchise is the jersey. While some teams have done well in this regard, a few teams still have scope for some improvement. Here, we take a look at the list of three teams that must change their jersey for IPL 2024.
1) Punjab Kings
In the past, when PBKS had a pink-and-white tinge, they had a different identity. However, after the name of the franchise was changed, the team went for a complete red hue with the letters in gold.
This is very similar to the RCB jersey of the past. Also, the complete red hue can be boring for the fans. Therefore, PBKS might want to change their jersey for the next campaign.
2) Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR had arguably the best jersey in the history of IPL. However, they changed the colour from black to purple, and it has been so till now.
When they won the trophy, the purple was still dominant. However, these days, there is a lot of gold or yellow on the jersey. This is not giving a great look to the overall aesthetics. Also, during the day games, the jersey does not improve the viewing experience of the fans.
3) Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals is one of the teams that must change their jersey for IPL 2024. Last season, DC adopted a similar jersey to the BFC jersey in the Indian Super League. However, it was odd to see the tinge of blue on the shirt and the pants were different. This was jarring to watch for the fans.
Nevertheless, it was corrected later. The management must ensure that the Rishabh Pant-led franchise this time must be more original and fresh.
