Dinesh Karthik is the Mentor and Batting Coach of RCB. He will play in SA20 2025 for Paarl Royals. Recently, the SA20 2024 Auctions were held. DK could have in mind some of the players whom he will be teaming up with next year. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teammates at Paarl Royals whom Dinesh Karthik could target for RCB.
1) David Miller
David Miller ticks all the boxes that RCB needs. They need an experienced finisher to replace Dinesh Karthik. Miller can be that player.
They need a left-hander and someone with brute power. Here again, Miller is ideal for the franchise. We could also say that Miller can be a decent captaincy choice for the franchise. Hence, he is on this list.
2) Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Mujeeb Ur Rahman is one of the teammates at Paarl Royals whom Dinesh Karthik could target for RCB. He was supposed to play for KKR in IPL 2024 but that did not happen. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old Afghan spinner will still be in demand in IPL.
RCB needs a spinner who can make things work off the pitch. Only such players can have an impact at the Chinnaswamy. In this regard, someone like Sunil Narine will be perfect for the side. Since such players will be retained, a spinner like Mujeeb could be adequate.
3) Kwena Maphaka
It was apparent that for Kwena Maphaka, the introduction to IPL seemed to be a bit too early in IPL 2024. However, it was there to see the kind of potential he has and the skills he already has.
If not as the lead overseas pacer, RCB can target the South African teenager in the future. He will surely be a great deal in the future and having him now will sort the pace attack in the future.
