Looking at the retention rules, you could say that Punjab Kings might retain the least number of players. Hence, most of their current cricketers could be available in the auctions. 1) Sam Curran
Sam Curran enjoyed a fine stint at CSK before. If he is available in the auctions, CSK could go for him as the all-round option for the side.
Punjab Kings may not retain Sam because he has been inconsistent. For CSK, Sam Curran could be the ideal partner for Pathirana in the death overs. Sam, of course, can operate with the new ball, as well.
2) Jitesh Sharma
Jitesh Sharma is one of the Punjab Kings players CSK could target in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. MS Dhoni is very likely to feature in IPL 2025 as the wicket-keeper. However, it is not sure how long the legend will keep playing in the Indian Premier League.
CSK will need to be very serious about their next wicket-keeper. Jitesh Sharma is an attainable option for the franchise. He also bats at a similar batting slot as MS Dhoni. At the same time, Jitesh offers experience behind the stumps. He will be the ideal pick for CSK.
3) Liam Livingstone
CSK could consider Liam Livingstone as the replacement for Moeen Ali, who is unlikely to be signed again. Liam Livingstone offers more power with the bat and CSK could need that in the middle order.
One difference, though, between Moeen and Liam is that the latter is more comfortable against pace. Moeen used to work as a spin basher and CSK will need to find a different player for that role if Liam is signed. Liam also provides a leg-spin as an option.
