As per reports, Yuvraj Singh is set to join the coaching staff of Gujarat Titans. Ashish Nehra is set to move out and Yuvi could replace him. Coaches like to have players whom they know very well or who would suit their style. Here, we take a look at the list of three players Yuvraj Singh could target if he becomes the Head Coach of Gujarat Titans.
1) Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is one of the players Yuvraj Singh could target if he becomes the Head Coach of Gujarat Titans. Time and again, Yuvi has mentioned that Rohit is one of his best friends in cricket. It needs to be noted that Rohit could be on his way out of Mumbai Indians and could enter the auctions.
If that happens, Yuvi will surely target the player who once signed him in his final years when he was the skipper at MI. Rohit would anyways form a great partnership with captain Shubman Gill at the top. He could even take captaincy for a few years, if required.
2) Nitish Rana
Usually, when an ex-player is appointed as a coach, he might be inclined towards a player of his type. In this regard, Yuvraj Singh might consider Nitish Rana as an option because just like him, he is also a very good left-handed middle-order batter.
Anyways, GT would need an established left-hander in the middle order. In this regard, Rana adds value and will also give a few overs with the ball.
3) Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal and Yuvraj Singh enjoy a good relationship off the field. We have seen them in many live videos on social media.
Rashid Khan is likely to be retained but it is always a luxury to have an extra leg-spinner. In fact, both of them bowling together could make it a dangerous spin attack for the side. Hence, Yuvi could target Chahal.
