Captaining a team is the dream of almost every cricketer who starts playing professionally. However, it is not everyone’s cup of tea have a long career as a captain in any format of the game. If the player does not perform well or the team does not get the necessary results, the captain is blamed. To play 200 matches as captain is a big thing.
A captain always tries to keep his team first. If a player gets injured, he immediately loses his captaincy, and if someone else performs better in his absence, then the player ends up losing captaincy of the team permanently as well. Former West Indies captain Daren Sammy led the West Indies team to the T20 World Cup titles. Sammy also had a great career as a skipper in the T20 competitions. Before announcing retirement, Sammy led the team in 208 matches.
1. MS Dhoni
The man to lead a team in the highest T20 games is current CSK skipper MS Dhoni. The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter has led a team in 307 T20s. It is highly unlikely that his record will ever be broken.
