There are reports that Virat Kohli could come back as the RCB skipper. In that case, Virat would already have a few ideas on how his future squad should look like. He can even target some of the players who did well under him in the first stint. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players who flourished in RCB under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and might come back to the franchise again.
1) KL Rahul
KL Rahul just played around 20 games for RCB but he did well in those matches. In 2016, he did well under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. KL Rahul scored a lot of impact runs in the middle order and also kept wickets.
Now that he is in the auctions, RCB will target him. He is close to Virat Kohli and there is a chance that the franchise might plan for a reunion.
2) Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal is one of the players who flourished in RCB under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and might come back to the franchise again. If he is not retained by Rajasthan Royals, there will be a lot of demand for Chahal.
The highest wicket-taker for RCB, after RCB released him, the franchise could not find the right options in the spin department. With his experience at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB might not think twice in hiring him again if he is available in the auctions.
3) Devdutt Padikkal
When Virat Kohli was the skipper, DDP made his IPL debut. He did not take long to establish himself as a fine opener. However, after leaving RCB, his IPL career has gone down. He had a terrible season last year in LSG.
That said, he is young and can further develop his game. RCB needs some left-hand options in the Top 5 and they can target DDP, especially because he is a local boy.
