Travelling Reserves: Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mayank Yadav and Prasidh Krishna

1) Abhimanyu Easwaran

India needs a backup opener and with Rohit Sharma reportedly set to miss a game in Australia, it is now all the more necessary. In this regard, Easwaran would have expected a chance against New Zealand. However, that was not to be.

For a few seasons now, he has been in top form. Hence, he must feel a bit unlucky to have missed out on the squad again.

2) Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal is one of the players unlucky to miss the India squad for the Test series against New Zealand. He was a part of the squad for the Bangladesh series. Now, he is not even in the travelling reserves.

India needs a left-arm seamer for Australia. Yash Dayal seemed to have been the preferred option. However, without even getting a chance, he has been dropped from the squad.

3) Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar is slowly gaining form and that was shown in the recent Irani Cup 2024. With Mohammed Shami’s return not sure, Mukesh could have been useful in the setup.

After taking a five-wicket haul in the Irani Cup, Mukesh would have expected a call-up. However, he is not even a part of the travelling reserves.
