As per the latest reports, BCCI is exploring the idea of allowing 3 Retentions and 1 RTM for each franchise before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. This could be a bad option for a few teams. Hence, we could see a lot of big names going under the hammer. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players RCB could shockingly release if teams are allowed just 3 retentions.

1) Will Jacks

Will Jacks is considered as one of the retention options for RCB. However, if just three names are allowed, RCB might be forced to release the English cricketer.

RCB’s thinking could be that Will Jacks could be hired at the auctions through the RTM or a direct purchase. If the situation does not allow, RCB could instead target some of the other options available in the market.

2) Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj is one of the players RCB could shockingly release if teams are allowed just 3 retentions before the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Siraj was poor in the first half of IPL 2024 while he was brilliant in the second half. Inconsistency has been following Siraj in the last few years in the IPL.

With the talented fast bowlers in the country, RCB might consider the risk of releasing Siraj and attempting to buy him back. It would be a bold move but if RCB wants to retain Virat, Rajat and one foreign all-rounder, Siraj might have to be released.

3) Cameron Green

After his performances in the second half of IPL 2024, Green is considered is a solid option for retention. With his all-round value, he would add a lot of balance to the side.

However, if only 3 retentions are allowed, RCB might focus more on the Indian names. They might plan to buy him back through the RTM. Hence, Green is on this list.
