As per reports, Rahul Dravid is set to become the next Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals. He might have some players in his mind for the next squad. Therefore, he could target him in the upcoming Mega Auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players Rahul Dravid could target if he becomes the Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals.
1) Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid enjoy a great working relationship. In multiple interviews, both these legends praised each other. Considering this, they might decide to work together again. Rohit Sharma could be on his way out of Mumbai Indians and Dravid could consider hiring him for RR.
Jos Buttler could come down to add strength to the middle-order. Rohit as an opener alongside Jaiswal might just be the perfect recipe for the side. Rohit’s fanbase will also help the franchise very much.
2) Washington Sundar
Sundar is one of the players Rahul Dravid could target in IPL 2025 Auctions if he becomes the Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Dravid insisted on an all-rounder at No.8 and this helped the team very much.
In recent years, RR has struggled with its batting depth. R Ashwin might be released considering age and Sundar could be a target for the franchise. He would be ideal for the No.8 role and will be one of the components of the spin attack.
3) Umran Malik
Just like Washington Sundar, Umran Malik’s IPL career is also off the track. At least Sundar has an India career but Umran is going nowhere, despite all the potential that he showcased.
Rahul Dravid likes to back youngsters and he might consider Umran Malik as one of his projects. He has pace and if he does well, he would be an excellent addition for the future.
