‘It’s Only A Matter Of One Knock’-Former England Fast Bowler Is Optimistic Of Eoin Morgan Getting His Form Back

Dominic Cork, who played as a fast bowler for England in the past, backed the choice of the management to keep Eoin Morgan in the line-up even though he has been performing poorly. The left-handed batsman has already scored two straight ducks in the current one-day international series against the Netherlands, and his position in the team has come under scrutiny as a result of his lackluster performance over the last two years. The skipper of the team that won the World Cup didn’t score a century in the format since 2020, and his scoring slump has carried over into the Twenty20 format as well.

Morgan captained the Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2021 season, and the club was able to overcome adversity and make it to the championship game because of his leadership. However, his batting form was never in the proper place, and he scored only 133 runs over the course of 17 games. As a result, the team decided not to keep him on board for the next season. He was not purchased by anybody at this year’s IPL auction, and his form will most certainly be taken into account in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup in 2022 this year.

It’s simply a smack on the head for Eoin Morgan, that’s all it is: Dominic Cork

Cork pointed out that Morgan’s form is still a cause for worry for England, but he believed that he has been given continual opportunities because of his fantastic success as a captain and a batter. He noted the challenges of playing in a tight schedule at the time and thought that it is only a question of one knock to get his form back. In light of the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, he was excited to monitor Morgan’s performance over the following six to eight months.

Dominic Cork was quoted by Sky Sports as saying, “I am sure it is a problem for him and a concern for England. But, he’s got some credit in the bank for what he’s done as captain and what he’s done as a batsman.

It is not simple to get back into the game after not playing a significant amount of international cricket or franchise cricket at the present. It’s only a matter of one knock at this point. Let’s wait and see where we are in four, six, or even ten months from now,” he said further.
