CSK actually did well on Day 1 of the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. They strengthened their spin attack with the signings of R Ashwin and Noor Ahmed. They also made some budget picks with the likes of Rahul Tripathi, Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway. The team still has a few gaps and they have the purse and the players to target on the second day. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players CSK could target on Day 2 of IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Glenn Phillips

CSK will need a pace basher in the lower middle order. They targeted the likes of Liam Livingstone but could not get him.

Hence, they could go for Glenn Phillips. Stephen Fleming might like the Kiwi and he could slot in between Jadeja and Dhoni in the playing XI. He could also be the backup keeper and the extra spinner which is always needed at the Chepauk in Chennai.

2) Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar is one of the players CSK could target on Day 2 of IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Khaleel Ahmed’s signing is a big boost for CSK. They now have at least three good overs sorted in the powerplay.

However, the management must be wary of the pitches when CSK travel. Hence, they might need some more options. In this regard, signing Mukesh Kumar will be ideal. He can bowl in multiple phases and also has decent experience playing for India. Hence, he is on this list.

3) Naveen Ul Haq

It is likely that CSK will go for the services of the Afghan, who has also represented the owners in the other leagues. He offers variety to the bowling attack and can be a good backup for Pathirana.

If CSK wants to use two overseas pacers, Naveen comes in at a good value. Considering his age, he could also be an investment for the future.
