Family relations in the game of cricket are not a new thing. In the past, we have witnessed many instances of siblings in the same XI and also a father-son pair in the same squad. The upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup, as well, will have a few examples. Some cousins would take the field in the event. It would be a proud moment for the family. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three pairs of cousins who might play in the 2023 ODI World Cup

1) Kane Williamson and Dane Cleaver (New Zealand)

Not many are aware but Dane Cleaver is actually a cousin of Kane Williamson. However, unlike his popular cousin, Cleaver could not make an early debut. It is only recently that he made his international debut. Although a tough ask, if there are injuries, it might not be a surprise to see Cleaver on the flight to India.

Kane Williamson, though, is racing against time to be fit for the event. The Kiwis are willing to risk a few games without Kane to allow him to return to peak fitness.

2) Jason Roy (England) and Shane Snater (Netherlands)

Jason Roy and Shane Snater belong to one of the pairs of cousins who might play in the 2023 ODI World Cup. It has been a while since Snater played for the Netherlands. However, it might not be a shock if the in-form County cricketer gets a chance.

On the other hand, the next few weeks will be important for Roy. He must do well or else, he could lose his opening spot to someone like Dawid Malan or even Joe Root.

3) Ibrahim Zadran and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan)

Both these players have been a part of the Afghanistan setup for a while. They also played together in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Mujeeb would be important, especially since the event is happening in India. If he can find his form which he had when he had started out, the Afghans could cause a few upsets.
