The investment in Deepak Chahar was a failed one for CSK. While the franchise could buy him back, surely, he will not be the only lead new-ball domestic option for the side. CSK will explore other options to fill this role or accompany Chahar next year. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three options CSK must target to replace Deepak Chahar as the new-ball bowler for IPL 2025.
1) Shivam Mavi
Not long ago, Shivam Mavi played for India and did a decent job. However, fitness has been an issue and it has been two years since he played in the IPL.
Nevertheless, he is still young and he will surely play a vital role in an IPL franchise in the future. CSK could like a player like Mavi, who also offers something with the bat.
2) Khaleel Ahmed
Khaleel Ahmed is one of the options CSK must target to replace Deepak Chahar as the new-ball bowler for IPL 2025. Many teams will go behind the Rajasthan pacer, who recently made a comeback to the Indian Team.
In fact, Delhi Capitals could also try to get him back using the RTM Card. CSK will need such a player to apply pressure in the powerplay before the spinners take over. Hence, he is an ideal candidate for them.
3) Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvi is 34 years old and he can surely serve the franchise for the next two years. Having served the franchise for a while now, Bhuvi might want to move out of SRH to give himself a new challenge. And a task at CSK could tempt him.
He is an experienced cricketer and his presence will also help someone like Matheesha Pathirana. Just like how Ashish Nehra enjoyed a fine stint at CSK in his last few playing years, Bhuvi could also do that at CSK.
