Zaheer Khan has been associated with Mumbai Indians for a long time now. However, as per the latest reports, he is now in talks with Luckow Super Giants to become the next Mentor of the franchise. There are a few aspects of the LSG’s batting that need to be worked upon. Zaheer could target some of his players from MI. 1) Rohit Sharma
As per reports, Rohit Sharma is all set to be released by Mumbai Indians. The Indian skipper will go under the hammer in this case. If that happens, a lot of teams would be interested in his services.
On the other hand, there are also reports that LSG might release KL Rahul. Hence, LSG could need a skipper and an opener. Considering Rohit Sharma is still doing well, he would be a solid fit for the franchise.
2) Tilak Varma
Tilak Varma is one of the Mumbai Indians batters Zaheer Khan could target for LSG in IPL 2025 Auctions. LSG will need a young Indian cricketer who will have the capability to lead the squad in the future.
Tilak is just the right profile in this category. MI might not be able to retain him if there are limited retentions allowed. Therefore, LSG can target the cricketer.
3) Dewald Brevis
Dewald Brevis was just not able to click at MI. He is sure to be released by the outfit. However, Brevis is a talented cricketer and can still achieve his full potential.
He is good against the spinners and might work at a venue like the EKANA in Lucknow. The South African can also prove value with the ball. At least as a backup option, he can be a good signing for LSG.
