Royal Challengers Bengaluru were down and out in IPL 2024. However, a six-match winning streak put them in the playoffs. Yes, they did lose the Eliminator 1 but considering the situation that they were in, it was eventually a good season for them. There were a lot of positives for RCB in the campaign. Here, we take a look at the list of three major positives for RCB in IPL 2024.
1) The emergence of a strong batting core for the future
Before the season started, RCB would have been worried about the core for the future. Most other teams had good youngsters and even if a Mega Auction came, they were pretty much secured. However, in RCB’s case, there were mostly only veteran batters.
Now, with the performances of Rajat Patidar, Will Jacks and Cameron Green, RCB has a strong batting core for the future. Adding Virat Kohli to this, RCB just need to buy a good left-handed batter and they will be sorted for the next few years.
2) Andy Flower’s influence
Andy Flower’s influence is one of the major positives for RCB in IPL 2024. It was only in the second half of the season that everyone started seeing the influence of Andy Flower on the RCB setup. This was a big positive for the side because they could now trust him for the future.
There was clarity in the tactics and the brand of cricket was also impressive. With him getting more control at the next auctions, Andy Flower could further do well for RCB.
3) Promise of Yash Dayal
Not many Indian pacers have found success at RCB. Yash Dayal was different in this regard. Hardly anyone expected him to do well for the team.
His form proves that if the clarity is there, bowlers could do well at RCB. For the new bowlers coming in, as well, Yash’s show is an inspiration.
