Lucknow Super Giants might go undergo a massive change before the next season. They could target a few players from KKR, who might not be able to retain all their players from the successful side in IPL 2024. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three KKR players LSG could target in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
1) Suyash Sharma
Amit Mishra played a few games for LSG in the last two seasons. He was more of a backup to Ravi Bishnoi. With the Impact Player rule. having two leg-spinners is a good strategy, especially at a venue like the EKANA in Lucknow.
Suyash Sharma could not follow up in IPL 2024 after a strong run in IPL 2023. That said, he has the age and skills to develop further. It is not sure if LSG can retain or buy back Bishnoi, again. Hence, as a backup or as the lead spinner, Suyash can be a decent target for the franchise. Hence, he is on this list.
2) Nitish Rana
Nitish Rana is one of the KKR players LSG could target in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. It needs to be noted that Nitish now plays domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh. He also featured in the recent UP T20 League.
A good player of spin, Rana also bowls a bit of off-spin. Rana can be a real asset at No.3 or No.4. He also has captaincy experience, which would be of great use to the side, especially if someone like KL Rahul is released from the team.
3) Venkatesh Iyer
If LSG is looking for a replacement for either of Devdutt Padikkal or Deepak Hooda, Venkatesh Iyer is the right option for the side. He is in good IPL form and he also offers a bit of medium-pace, which could help the balance of the side.
While he started his IPL career as an opener, he has operated at the other batting slots, as well. Hence, this flexibility could help the side when forming the batting unit.
