Josh Inglis replaced Alex Carey in the playing XI for Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He did a good job with some good finishes and also responsible batting in certain games such as in the semis. Against India recently, he hit a brilliant century. A talented wicket-keeper, as well, a few teams could be interested in him. Here, we take a look at the list of three IPL franchises that could target Josh Inglis for IPL 2024.
1) Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR is one outfit that might need a wicket-keeper at the top of the order. Yes, Gurbaz is available but the Afghan could be inconsistent at times.
Hence, KKR needs to plan for a backup in this regard. Josh Inglis would be an ideal option. While he can bat in the top order, he also has the experience of finishing matches.
2) Delhi Capitals
In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals did not do well last season in finding a replacement keeper. Phil Salt performed well in certain games but he was a bit inconsistent.
Ricky Ponting, as we have seen before, inclines towards players from his nation. Therefore, there is a possibility that he might target the ODI World Cup winner for DC. Hence, the franchise is also on the list.
3) Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the IPL franchises that could target Josh Inglis for IPL 2024. Finn Allen is currently the overseas keeper in the side. However, the Kiwi is out of form and the franchise could release him before the auctions.
Josh Inglis is an option for RCB to replace the young Kiwi. In terms of recent form, Josh Inglis is slightly better. He has better experience in pressure situations. Also, his flexibility across the batting order makes him a good signing because Finn is comfortable only as an opener.
