3 Indians unlucky to miss both the ODI World Cup and the Asian Games squads

Some cricketers were in the fray to get selected for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Hence, they were not named for the Asian Games 2023 squad. Now, they were not selected for the World Cup and have also missed out on the Asian Games. Considering they are talented and in-demand cricketers, it is a bit unfortunate for them. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians unlucky to miss both the ODI World Cup and the Asian Games squads.

1) Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson is the first name that comes to mind when we talk about the absentees from the Indian squad. With the likes of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul unfit, it was Sanju who got a chance in the middle-order. To a certain extent, he also did well for the team.

Now, in the last moment, the likes of Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav leapfrogged ahead of him. Now, Sanju is without a chance in the squad. On the other hand, he would have been an integral part of the Asian Games squad and might have even captained it. However, he is not a part of that squad, as well.

2) Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the Indians unlucky to miss both the ODI World Cup and the Asian Games squads. For Chahal, though, the picture was clear much before Samson.

At least, Chahal got a window to gain clarity about his future. Hence, he sorted out a deal in the County. Nevertheless, for the Asian Games, he would have been a marquee pick for Team India.

3) Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna will not be very disappointed. It was expected that he won’t make it to the squad especially since he was returning from injury.

That said, if any one injury happens to the Indian pace attack, Prasidh will be the first option. In fact, he might even travel with the team throughout the World Cup.
