In a surprising move, Royal Challengers Bangalore announced Mo Bobat as the replacement for Mike Hesson as the Director of Cricket. Bobat is not a popular name for the fans but he has been influential as the Performance Director for England. Hence, along with Andy Flower, there are likely to be some signings from England. Here, we take a look at three exciting English cricketers whom RCB’s new Director of Cricket Mo Bobat can target for IPL 2024.

1) Ben Duckett

Ben Duckett is an aggressive top-order batter who plays in tune with England’s aggressive approach. He is a left-hander and is also a wicket-keeper.

RCB might need such players for the next season and also for the future. Finn Allen might be released and if RCB needs a versatile player, they can go for Duckett. He would also bring decent experience with him.

2) Gus Atkinson

Despite not playing much of cricket domestically, Atkinson got a chance in the England ODI World Cup squad. This shows the potential that the pace has got.

With the exception of Mohammed Siraj, RCB has not found consistency in any of the other pacers. This would be a problem going forward, especially when Siraj might be unavailable. Hence, keeping in mind the future, as well, RCB can target a player like Atkinson. He would add some fire to the bowling attack.

3) Tom Kohler-Cadmore

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is one of the exciting English cricketers whom RCB’s new Director of Cricket Mo Bobat can target for IPL 2024. He has already displayed his skills in tournaments such as the PSL. He could also get his chance in IPL soon.

Chinnaswamy Stadium will also be a venue that might suit the cricketer’s game. While he is a top-order batter, he can also offer his services in the middle-order. Importantly, he is a wicket-keeper. RCB needs to have as many wicket-keeping choices as possible. Hence, this signing could work for them.
