KKR had a great run in IPL 2024 because of the strong core and great depth of resources. However, they will have to let go of it because of the Mega Auction. Although not confirmed, Mega Auction is more likely to happen. In that case, KKR will have to build their squad from scratch. Hence, they might have to explore talents from other teams, as well. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three CSK players whom KKR could target in IPL 2025 Auctions.
1) Moeen Ali
The age may be on the wrong side but Moeen Ali is still a fine T20 cricketer. If he can come at a steal, he would be a great option as a backup.
For KKR, he would be the ideal backup for Sunil Narine. Like Sunil, Moeen can bat in the top-order and he can also do a job in the middle-order. On his day, Moeen can be dangerous with the ball, as well.
2) Mitchell Santner
Anukul Roy was there but KKR needed someone better as a left-arm off-spinner. This bowling type can make this squad more dangerous with the ball.
Santner, who struggles to get games at CSK, could be a target for KKR. He can be a part of the spin-trio and also add balance with his batting skills.
3) Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar is one of the CSK players whom KKR could target in IPL 2025 Auctions. Harshit Rana could be developed into an all-phase bowler. Also, it is not sure if Mitchell Starc will come back for the next season of IPL.
Hence, KKR will have to re-build their bowling attack. Deepak Chahar could be a decent choice to have in the squad. If he is given role-clarity and if his fitness can be taken care, he will be an asset. Also, he adds value with the bat, which could further strengthen the batting attack of the side.
