1) KL Rahul
KL Rahul is also likely to enter the auctions as per various reports. LSG might retain Nicholas Pooran and even make him a skipper. For a few teams, at least, KL Rahul could be in the fray to take over as the captain. KKR could be one of them.
Since KL Rahul can keep wickets, the value will be better. Of course, there is a lot that KL Rahul must work on if he has to suit the philosophy of the franchise. Nevertheless, he is still a marquee choice for the side.
2) Rishabh Pant (if released by Delhi Capitals)
Rishabh Pant is one of the captains KKR can target if Shreyas Iyer comes to the auctions. There are many reports that claim Rishabh Pant entering the auctions. If that happens, quite a few teams will go for him.
Especially if Shreyas Iyer is not in KKR anymore, the franchise will be desperate for Rishabh Pant. He is a domestic keeper and KKR needs an option. Moreover, his brand value will add to the popularity of the franchise.
3) Ishan Kishan
Yes, that’s right! Mumbai Indians may not retain Ishan Kishan and he is likely to enter the auctions. KKR will need a domestic keeper and they could go for Ishan Kishan to fill the vacancy.
If the team cannot get back Shreyas Iyer, they will be left with very few options. In this regard, appointing Kishan as the skipper could help the franchise in the long run. If the move clicks, the team will be sorted in all the areas for the next few years.
